I heard a short conversation on BBC Radio London about this a few years back, they apparently don't always pair cameras on the same lane so you could still be caught out even though you changed lanes not really worth the risk... could do without the points

Its a falsehood - any camera can capture you in any lane - my mate works in the police and has confirmed this for me.

SPECS speed cameras explained, UK SPECS traffic cameras

Always at least 2 cameras and they use anpr so can get you which ever camera picks you up and no matter how often you change lanes.

Or you could just drive properly and not speed?

Ok having now read the article I see what it means about changing lanes, under home office guidelines a conviction is only possible if yuo are filmed in the same lane at the beggining and end of your timed run.

Yes it is but as no-one has pointed out wether the Homa Office reapproved the system for use in more than one lane it was relevant.

However it is now as SPECS3 has Home Office Type Approval from December 2009.
