26th May 2010, 08:48 AM #35 The food served here is very good - the only problem is the rugby scrum down there in the restaurant to try and get served.

The joy of not teaching is that I can leave for lunch before the rest of the school and be first in the queue, shame our canteen is pretty bad though.
Does anyone else get free Tea and PROPER coffee during break? Recently we've had this introduced in our staff room along with a selection of canteen goods on offer to purchase without having to fight through hoards of children

No, we get free rubbish coffee (and I mean horrible really - 2 sugars and plenty of milk to mask the taste :S).
It'll be a ham and cheese baguette for me today with lettuce tomato cucumber jalepenos and sweetcorn

We have tea and proper filter coffee, some kind of cake or biscuit to buy, and proper subsidised lunch (mmm, jam sponge and custard
)

It's rather good, sign up, tell them what you like and they send you a box full of tasty treets on as many days as you like! I love it, had them for about 4 months now a couple times week!

26th May 2010, 10:49 AM #41 Usually I go for peanut butter, in white english muffins!
However, last night, I made a job lot of egg mayo, so that's what I have today! (In white bread!).....Oh and a couple of sausage rolls too!

26th May 2010, 10:50 AM #42 Here we have fairtrade organic tea... it's a bit of a shame that it tastes a bit rubbish though. Give me PG Tips / Tetley any day! Coffee is Nescafe which is pretty standard, milk is milk and sugar is sugar.
Most of the time I go home to make my own lunch, there is a cafe on site though which isn't bad, I'm just a cheapskate and as I live within walking distance of the office, I might as well save money and make my own. I do get the odd Graze box delivered though as a treat on a Friday.

26th May 2010, 11:14 AM #45 we get naff all free here...we have to contribute to the tea boat or bring our own in...
...and for a bunch of supposedly well educated teachers it's amazingly difficult to get the fairtrade message across...even though they have been teaching the pupils about how wonderful it is!
