    i need advice on what grapic card you can run linux desktop 3d cube software on as my friend said you need a older graphic card is this true /false

    I run Mandriva on a Dell Inspiron 510m with Intel GMA Graphics (64MB shared system RAM graphics memory usage). It runs XGL great. You would be better with a newer supported card, but it runs on chipsets with integrated graphics too.

    If you want a high end card. You've basically got a choice between ATI and Nvidia. Given that, Nvidias drivers are better.

    I'm running XGL with Ubuntu edgy and Beryl 0.1.4
    using 8.28.8 ATI drivers.
