member of staff would like to compare national curriculum levels in excel spredsheet, and give an indication of wether the level has gone up, down or stayed the same. If level was 5 in Year 8 and in Year 9 it is 6 colour the cell red, if it has stayed the same = amber and down - you guessed it Red?
Is there anyway i can do this? compare then two numbers and colour a cell/multiple cells depending on result?

Re: Excel IF statement maybe VB
Conditional Formatting will do this, you will need to base it on a formula comparing the two cells rather than the value of a cell (it's a dropdown in the dialog).
