Apple developing Flash Alternative Named Gianduia

Isn't this more likely to split standards than work toward unifying them? I had thought that the modern trend was to try to collaborate on projects like this [at least in public?]

Great another Apple rootkit to ruin PC performance and make them crash, don't iTunes and Quicktime do enough damage for these sociopaths.

one could rephrase the title to 'apple offers yet another Javascript framework based RIA option', and it
wouldn't sound half as disruptive as 'apple developing flash alternative'.

As for the whole hullabaloo over flash plugins and security.....are javascript enabled browsers not a potential
security exploit/concern even without the help of flash ?
