We have a full contingent and they're all doing my head in as usual!
11 off here I think, though a few are in mainland Europe so could well be home via ferry/eurostar tomorrow

12 teachers out (12%) "stuck" on holiday.
No-one on support staff seems to be paid enough for multiple forign holidays per year.
Precisely... it's a joke, could go on and on but beginning to sound jealous. Shame some of them will manage to get back too.No-one on support staff seems to be paid enough for multiple forign holidays per year.

1 Assistant Head

Head and about 10 teachers here. Plus about 10 kids in the US on a trip.
The least of my worries, the production SAN threw both PSUs, a disk and a MMC card on Friday and replacement parts were actually in the country.
We have some teachers in New York, Italy, India and the chef in Jamaica, the 20 teachers excludes non teaching staff. Unsure but probably only 5 support staff out.

I was considering being 'Stuck' on holiday...
Thought management wouldn't take too kindly to my not being able to make it back from Skegness though.
You could argue that there are potential unknown health risks due to the ash filtering down, and so you're unwilling to leave the bar...uh, hotel until the eruption stops or the school make suitable provisions for your travel. A simple filter mask should be enough, but it'd give you a few extra days waiting for it to be delivered.
Personally I think this is just solid evidence that we should bring back airships and scrap these noisy, pollution, expensive plains, along with the jet-set lifestyle.
HR Director - No redundancy meetings this week..... The stress carries on! oh and another weeks pay at least

A colleague was in Sweden and had to pay near 900 Euros to get back! Coach from Stockholm to Malmo (6 hours), then change at Malmo and then go to Copenhagen (3 hours), Copenhagen to Berlin (5 hours), Berlin to Calais (9 hours), Ferry from Calais (2 hours) Dover to home (3 hours)
He was not a happy chappy!

I've got a full compliment so I can lend people some if they're short of staff......please take some....PLEASE!!!!!!

Our Year 4 teacher is stuck in Egypt and the Science Teacher in Austria... in a tiny school like ours, it's a significant number!
