basicly taking managment scales and replacing them with tlr but as part of that can do whole school payreview inc support staff such as lsa, it support
So be warned look out and checking with your union saying that unison rep at county hall hadn;t been told it would effect support staff...

biggest problem as i see with tlr is that it will be used as cost cutting..

I'm a new Unison rep - the 'Schools Workforce Agreement' affects non teaching staff a WHOLE LOT!
Teachers are being relieved of the admin tasks they perform so that they can be more effectively employed doing what they're paid for. Serious cash is therefore being pumped into schools to pay for the increased workload/responsibility this passes on to support staff. Some 80million in Welsh schools - which by law MUST be spent on precisely that. Schools will filter it away into other things tho' as they usually do. I'm not being cynical there - that's just a fact. The budget defecit to welsh schools = ~2%, the extra money to pay support staff also equates to ~2% ...Hmmm.
Job evaluation is taking place now in our authority. Schools are insisting it doesn't apply to tham, but the Council, the Unions and everyone else says different. The idea is that identical jobs should be paid on a single scale, and not individually decided by schools as they are at present.
Don't say anything to your Head about this tho' unless you're tired of your job
. Just sit it out and see what happens.
Happily our school is following WAMGI (Workforce Agreement Monitoring Group) guidelines. Available here: http://www.remodelling.org/download....ame=&x=20&y=12

Ah yes!
ops: hehe! It's just that pay reviews are happenning as well for support staff - maybe not linked with the teaching staff one tho' - as far as i'm aware.

This is chucking the elephant dung heap into the wind turbines to say the least. I can see s**t being scattered for miles after this beauty comes up. The rumblings here are that many of the teaching staff might well walk. I'm going to hang on and see what happens.
The ancillary staff will possibly be up ina arms over it as well due to the ever increasing workload being taken on by them as is.
It's going to be ....... 'interesting'!

I just got a letter today asking for a unison member to be on the staffing metings for TLR.
Reading the blurb the instruction is to allocate some money to support staff that have taken on extra resposibility and work. In our school new staff have been promoted and long standing staff have been overlooked yet handed the majority of the work. I'm not expecting to see much happen for support staff to be honest.
So here in Powys we have the Workforce agreement - Job evaluation and now TLR - all of 'em promising to give us more money! - We gotta win somehow surely!
