Google seems to be throwing up pages saying my searches resemble ones that a bot would make :!: and I have to enter the word on the screen to continue.
Is this happening to anyone else (or have they just got my number :P )

someone's just reported it to me and its doing it for me too. couldnt be its having a problem with our lancs external ip address?
http://codingo.net/blog/?p=14#more-14 this guy suggests it could be happening because of too many google queries on a single ip

I've tried those searches Simon, and I didn't have any problem.
The connection in Cumbria is the same as Lancs, and ultimately JANET, so I'm assuming that it's not a CLEO problem

Its just the sheer amount of traffic to google from our very few CLEO IPs means that google gets suspicious of all the activity. You just have to put up with it

If you sign into your Gmail then do google searches you can bypass the IP antibot filter.

Same here, it's all down to google thinking all the kids are a single spam bot.
