For all those on CLEO ..
log into your NED Dashboard, use the advanced options to set the page you want to redirect to instead of the standard block page to being a local server hosted one ..
Then, set up a webfilter for * (i.e. it will block everything .. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT GO THROUGH THE CLEO BOX YOURSELF ELSE YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PUT THIS BACK AND YOUR AF WILL BACKFIRE!!)
Then sit back and watch EVERY request be sent to the internet is down page, or whatever you choose to do .. lol ..
Too much time on my hands? Me? NO! lol ..

you could always prepare a letter for staff to give to students saying that new logon procedures require students to have a barcode tattooed on their arm and then install any old barcode readers on whatever pcs you can

I know I sound like an old fart but actually doing some of these seems to be less prank and more grounds for termination!
If I redirected every web request id be done for and some of the other stuff... well I would hate to think!
Your either very brave or have some great staff/kids!!

OH works for a large Financial Services company. He went into the office to find the following notice at the doors and on the intranet from the head of Health & Safety
All stairs are out of action today because new EU regulations have come into force stating that the number of stairs approaching the landing must be equal to those leaving the landing and we are awaiting the necessary certification.

Isn't it them that get a day a week to do anything (vaguely constructive) that they want?

Does everyone know about the RFCs? Only today's was Google too:
TCP Option to Denote Packet Mood
Trouble with these is that some of the jokes can be very "in" i.e. are a lot funnier if you've spent considerable time working with real RFCs. This one from last year might be a bit more accessible, dunno:
