Well ok we are showing off slightly but also dont want to be seen as not being fully disclosed etc ect
The school I work has now become on of few schools in county to become 'RM Partnership School" which in real terms dosnt mean much but we have MoU with rm on certain things and we get a nice stickyfoot and we get to use RM Logo's .
But as get accused of working for rm all time dont want that to come and bite me on the foot so now all your all know as it stands will still tell them off if causing trouble.....

The fact that you have changed your surname to 'Machines' so you can have the same initials sort of gives it away ... ;-)
Go for it mate.

lol
we have to agree to defend rm and take up arms for them....
No we allow our place to be used by rm for local events if they wish, agree that slt member and key staff meet with rm every 6 months (we do anyway), notify them if head, network manager or head of ict changes nothing bad stuff we do anyway.
Everything we do anyway just down on paper..

Do you get a discount on RM Connect licenses then?

strange - normal customer service, that you'd expect from most companies - but RM feel the need to ratify it with a bit of paper. I expect it's to remind their staff what customer relations is.

Russ is more than just a normal customer though ... you only had to see his session on the KS3 testing to realise that it pays to have someone with insider knowledge ...

don't get discount no but we get certain benefits we get small (very small amount) to do special projects, they sponsor an award for pupils, publicity for the school few other bits..
Point is like the meeting with slt we cant say no to rm (we wouldn't anyway always willing to meet with suppliers).
It is more about we promote our involvement with rm in return for them promoting us so we both get something out of it.

Hmmm I like the idea of that, but not with RM (yuck!) must think about this, work in partnership with a Harware Vendor could be good for all of us

RM haven't been able to beat the prices that we get for our hardware.

Can't say I've ever seen any decent deals wrt RM.
Russdevs' MoU sounds like a BSF forerunner, a sweetner and a way for RM to get their 'foot in the door' in UK Partnerships eyes in lieu of BSF.

Try thinking of it in the same way that there are Microsoft Academies or the old Apple Distinguished Schools system.

Can say mou is nothing like bsf and wouldn't have much say into it as lea will go with who they like with bsf and nothing i or the school says will make difference.
As for hardware prices we looked at this apart from dell who where offering silly season prices at the moment rm beat everyone else...
But once we took support, the fact we have so non-rm pc's that have had a higher fail rate than rm pcs so once taken total cost over the 3 years rm came out as the best.
Also rm pcs come pre-built and takes me 10 mins to setup, non rm workstations take me about an 1/2 hour at least
Times that by 33 starts to add man hours involved yes compared to dell we might be pay slightly more but our total cost including my time which is scarce and expensive
means more cost effective to go with RM.
Remember never about total base cost...
