We usually get the small bottles of French bier from Aldi but our son in law is visiting and it has to be the pukka Guinness, Stella etc. Our options are Waitrose (probably expensive), Aldi, Morrisons, Tesco Express or Off-Licence.
Where would you recommend?

29th March 2010, 09:32 AM #9 If it's good beer you're looking for rather than a particular brand, a lot of supermarkets run various offers on single bottles of real ales and such. Can't go wrong with a few bottles of Wychwood.

29th March 2010, 09:45 AM #10 I'd agree with most people, the supermarket is generaly better value (expecialy if there's an offer on).

I do love the odd bottle of Foreign Extra. It's also very apt for Saint Patrick's day, since he's also the patron saint of Nigeria, the country where Foreign Extra was first brewed.
EDIT: I just have to find a Guiness hat with the Nigerian flag on it.

Tell the ungrateful g!t to bring his own if he's going to be fussy? That said, I do prefer real beer to lager (it is OK on a hot summer day) and I buy mine in Sainsbury.
