I think there's a huge difference between dialect and wrong English although I'd guess that wrong usage today may well become normal English in the future - languages do evolve over time.

One of my pet hates is the way words are slightly mispronounced which then gets worse leading to misspelling and then a pronunciation to match. The classic example is "would've" that drifts into something like "woulduvv" and then becomes "would of"

The nightmare following this is when it goes the other way - somewhere on here today I'm sure I've seen someone use "'ve" instead of "of" which is quite frightening :-)

Which is why I type would have, I would much rather type would have then have would've be misinterpreted. My English is not brilliant - most likely at least 5 mistakes in these 2 lines lol

Sure does! They seem to use leave instead of let, though sted's translation is what they should say!

Being called 'Mate' by a spotty teenager in a service role and people who talk as if they are in a US ghetto when in fact they live in middle class suburbia.

Ran RM CC3 at a previous school. Whenever I went to any RM training courses or "Technical" conference, I couldn't help but be irritated by the fact that every RM employee appeared to start their sentence with the word "So..." . Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me? Do they have internal training session at RM where they say " So...You need to disregard all your previous knowledge of good sentence structure and tack the word "so" on at that start. I have expect any RM press releases to start with the word "So.."

    Ridiculous

One of my biggest pet hates is when staff (even the boss) calls our Sharepoint install the 'VLE'. "No, Sharepoint is a glorified bulletin board that we are soon to be getting rid of - MOODLE is our 'VLE'".

Do we use Sharepoint to help deliver any lessons or teaching resources? NO! That's what we use Moodle for, hench why it is given the title 'Virtual Learning Environment'.

Apostrophe abuse. There's no excuse for it.

Much of what has already been said, including there/their/ they're etc. The less and fewer is also a big one with me.

    Sat and sitting/seated.

"I am sat at my computer"

No you're not, you're sitting at your computer.
