    Nintendo 3DS

    Nintendo unveils 3D DS

Didn't see this coming - I'm very intrigued! Gimmicky for sure, but then, the DS and Wii both seemed gimmicky when unveiled, so who knows? Just can't think of any gameplay applications beyond "looking cool as f**k".

Interesting that they promise no glasses - guess they're using the "sweet spot" 3D screen that creates the 3D effect only for one person sitting in exactly the right spot in front of the telly. Seems a good fit for a handheld device, anyway.

/wants to play now... proper 3D Mario

I've known about this for ten minutes and you've already ruined it for me, knowing now that it won't be that.

Although when they do manage to work out a way to do that, you know the first product using it will be modelled after R2-D2.
