Anyone doing this tomorrow?
GJE
What's it about?

have been for the last 3 weeks!! all the kids have been making videos with a teacher that doesn't know video editing, so guess which mug had to sort all that out...
but luckily the stuff tomorrow is being done by the music tech teacher
yep were doing this - we even had susan virdee form bbc news (midlands) come and talk to the girls on what she does, how the news gets to the final product etc.
we been doing this for a couple of years now well worth the experiance for the students
Yup we are doing it too. This will be our third time, I have been involved in the project from the start. Myself and the ICT Co-ord are doing it wth 12 year 8 pupils. Every year it gets easier. The first year was a disaster!! lol. As said before it really is good experience for the kids. But can be somewhat stressfull especially when the kids realise they are running out of time to get the broadcast completed.
Still, as someone said to me today "you would just be bored if you were not involved!!"
There was some grating of teeth and icy stares!!
Yep in this too, for the first time, im actually looking forward to it.. no idea how it will go tomorrow but ive been working with the kids over there lunch period for the last few weeks to help them get sorted.

This year we the kids have interviewed John Hartson (footballer, ex pupil of the school), have been to the WAG Building in Cardiff and have Rhodri Lewis (Rhodri Lewis ? People ? TV Newsroom) from the BBC Wales NewsTeam coming to the school.
Our stuff will be available for all to see at:

yep we're in this for the second or third time... lets hope all the conversions are quick enough as they are editing in iMovie and we are providing it in ClickView Wireless!
Ours is up no major issues all went pretty smoothly, one issue with a student rendering a video that is too large to be uploaded to the video site filmsforlearning.org other than that though its been fine.

Ours went up without any issues - some of it bilingually.
We hosted our films on YOuTube and embedded them into our Joomla install. Address is:
Welcome to the Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr Website - look at the carousel at the top and school report is there. Click away.
If you like John Hartson - there is a video of him there.

The site is fully maintained by the student's and the music tech teacher and they broadcast 3 days a week during lunch and breaks, we don't have any input at all apart from occasionally fixing there pc's - they did some video but was all done during english lessons with rather rubbish camera's! we have a recording studio/hut hence why the MP3 recordings where done as they invited teachers into the studio to discuss the stuff (so i believe!)
We did this today for the first time with 180 year 7's! What didn't help was our D-Link media studies nas "lost" an entire partition so most of our preparation was wiped out. There wasn't enough time to recover the data as the some of the sudents were working on the other partition. So myself and the team of year13 prefects were editing on Premiere Pro all day under the instruction of year 7's. It was good for the media prefects as it showed them what working to a real production deadline is like! Our NM was still uploading content when I left at 5pm.
