Parents' Facebook Groups
It's come to the attention of one of my schools that the parents have set up a Facebook group. There's nothing contentious there (that I can see on a quick browse on my phone), but the head isn't happy - especially as there are photos of children and staff on there. It doesn't look much used (last discussion 16 months ago!), and the head is thinking of asking the owner to shut it down.
Has anyone had a similar situation, and how did they deal with it?
On one hand, I think it's good that the parents are getting involved in the school; on the other, I can see the potential for it all to go pear-shaped.

If the kids have taken photos of staff and put them on the group then you have every right to ask for it to be removed. The sanctions here for kids taking photos of staff and uploading them to the net without permission are pretty severe.

Facebook won't take down the group... If their are pictures of staff, they can ask for them to be removed.
I would suggest a polite email to the owner in the hope that they will take it down.
