Anyone here work in a school in Birmingham LEA area.?

I need some advice on a planned move form Sims.net to CMIS. I know nearly all B'ham LEA schools use CMIS and have done for a couple of years.

I just want to pick some ones brains and experience.

I wont post question here until some one replies or i can do it via pm.

Can't help you much there. We went the other way - from CMIS to Sims.net :S

Re: Anyone here work in a school in Birmingham LEA area.?

The last school I worked at was one of the 1st adoptors of CMIS. What a disaster it was! I'm sure it's better now (it would have to be), and I was sick and fed up of doing "upgrades" every 2 months! Part of the reason for taking this new job was to get away from CMIS, and all the other "experts" on CMIS left to get away as well!!!

The way I see it is:

Ex: Is something that used to be,
    Spurt: Small drip under pressure

So I used to be a small drip under pressure, now I'm just small & under pressure!!!

    I'm at a Birmingham school.

My advice is to keep in contact with EdIt (or what ever they are called now) and also join the ICT Managers and Technicians BGFL message board.
