It cycles through particular objects of desire. At this very moment I have this image keeping me inspired to earn more money...
Indeed I do, and as we're showing gear pics, my main weapons (though I've gathered a few now...) are:
Gibson Les Paul
Blackstar HT-5 Mini Stack
Nice...
How does that Blackstar sound? I've had a play on their Artisan range which sounds beautiful, but is a touch pricey, and I'd ideally like a twin channel amp with lush overdrive.
I can't knock the HT-5, it's got a really nice warm tube sound to it, my dad has the combo and there isn't a hell of a lot of difference between the two to be honest. Only thing I would say is that it's not the most versatile of amps, i.e. it has no on-board effects at all (not even reverb), but I use pedals anyway so that doesn't bother me, it sounds great
Notice on your site you're gigging in Brum next month, might pop down for a look (any excuse to see a couple of bands!)

I'm using a Vox Valvetronix atm and I don't go anywhere near the on board effects. I'm looking for something a little more "organic". Versatility is not a big factor for me. I use a Boss GT8 for my fx, but I'm even thinking of moving away from that. There's no substitute for great tone.
Would be cool if you came to our brum gig, although as it's for the national competiton "Surface Unsigned", the tickets are a little pricey (£6); which really irks us as a band. Not trying to put you off, but just a friendly heads-up.
What kind of music do you play (I'm guessing quite rocky?)
I had a Valvetronix before I got the HT-5, I liked it but I rarely used any on-board effects other than for a quick way to get a certain sound if I had an idea I just wanted to mess with without getting all my gear out.
£6 isn't too bad, is it just yourselves or a couple of bands on?
I tend to play classic rock/blues rock and occasionally mess around with some finger picking on acoustic, and lately I've been trying to teach myself slide. Problem is, I can't do any of these particularly great so maybe I should focus on one style for a while lol.
What kind of music does your band play? (I've got no speakers on my work PC)

They'll be about 5 bands I imagine - not had the final deets yet. If you add yourself to our facebook group or myspace page, then we send out all the info via those means closer to the date.
Typically, we're impossible to pigeon hole!! But I guess we're a mash of indie, rock, folk, funk, with some prog and blues mixed in. Not to sound like a dick (prob too late!!), but it's best to give us a listen when you get the chance as everyone we speak to draws comparisons with different bands.
