As some of you know, I am a bit, er, keen on correct grammar and spelling and am forever trying not to correct every misspelt or misphrased post.
Whilst at BETT I saw a company that I think I really need to get together with, for more than one reason...

What would be more useful, is if someone could correct your spelling and grammar all the time.

18th January 2010, 06:54 AM #5 Excellent! Could do with some of those in schools
Not for the kids, mind. It's annoying how many posters and general resources aimed at kids in schools are badly spelled or outright incorrect.
I was sat seething the other day after reading an IT acronym/jargon poster in a primary's IT suite where it explained that Gb meant a gigabyte and Mb meant a megabyte. It might be pedantism but really do believe that in schools especially, people should make the effort to do it right :|

18th January 2010, 08:06 AM #6 The only thing is, that I always wanted to start a company called 'ginger somethingorother' due to my hair colour and now someone has beaten me to it, and done it using another of my favourite things...I don't know whether to feel pleased or sorry!

18th January 2010, 08:26 AM #7 So are we actually teaching kids how to spell, or are we teaching them 'where to click' if they can't spell.
I can imagine some of our kids getting an office job, then getting sacked because they can't type a letter correctly. "I never learned to spell, I just had to click GINGER and it did it for me. In fact, this is your fault for not having GINGER in the workplace. Don't you know that no-one under 21 learnt to spell at school?!" - then company gets sued for millions because they never used GINGER!
haha, makes you wonder!

sue them, or ask them for a job. or better still, just buy them out.
i thought it was hilarious when you corrected ric's spelling and he was only talking.
- nothing like a pre-emptive strike.

Sorry, missed that - how do you correct spelling when someone is talking? I probably did though
Besides, you can't talk - you're a grammar and spelling ninja yourself...

Well done witch. I can't stand bad grammar, spelling or punctuation myself. I just wish my typing was as accurate as my thoughts... it's constantly letting me down!

18th January 2010, 12:11 PM #11 The incorrect use of 'there' and 'their' drives me insane! Ooh and when of is used instead of have, might just be a local thing, but still ................

18th January 2010, 12:46 PM #12 My problem with spelling and grammar is that I know I'm no good at it and refuse to beat myself up over it. As far as I'm concerned if the meaning of what I write is suitably convayed then I don't care about the spelling and grammar. So long as y'all understand what I mean then that's all that really matters. Sorry.
