When I was at Lancaster Uni - nearly 25 years ago
- I remember being put off driving back to Lancaster by heavy snow at home in North Yorkshire.
In the days before 'tinternet, I rang the uni to ask what the snow was like... "What snow?" was the reply.
Sure enough, while the drive from Harrogate to Leeds was hell (I decided the M62 was a better bet than going over the top through Skipton), a few miles from Leeds, the snow cleared and it rained all the way to Lancaster.
I remember a lot of rain in Lancaster in the 3 years I was there. I swear it didn't stop at all for the entire first term! It was much drier and colder in Yorkshire.

Fingers crossed for today

I was watching the BBC news channel yesterday afternoon, and I could have sworn the weatherman said -10 for the North-East!!!!!!!!!!
By the evening though, they had calmed down a bit.

Good old Lancaster and its rain
Its like a localised monsoon season, which lasts all year. That's my experience when I was at uni there anyway.
