Kidderminster-ish way... It's pretty much stopped now, but what fell has stuck - it's about 2" by the front gates. They've not shut us, even though half the kids have gone, and cars can't get up the road outside the school!!!
EDIT: Spoke to soon - message through the txt system just arrived; we're closing at 1![]()

I, the bursar, the caretaker and our marketing manager have been out gritting our entire site this morning in the hope of ensuring we are able to open for the start of term tomorrow. (Current temperature -4.1oC according to the Science weather station)
We're not expecting any significant snow here, but our site is on a hill and the paths had all the grip of the Cresta Run. Sheet ice, not good!![]()

It's really snowing in Birmingham today as I write this. And it's sticking to the roads and cars!
The kids are having registration at 11 and then we will be off for the day wooohooo!!!
We've had a good bit of snow here in Sutton Coldfield but we are still open.
snowing like mad on the north west coast. being a tuesday, kids already get to leave at 2.10pm here's hoping they'll decide the staff can too, or cancel school even earlier!
Snowing like mad in Leyland...but still in work...having a bacon butty so not all bad!![]()
Well I tried to get to work this morning at 7 am. I got onto the main road, which is usually the difficult bit only to find that was even worse. I got a whole 30 metres before I was defeated by a slight incline.
Parked up and made a phone call to see what was what and sure enough school closed. Not always a good thing to aim to get there early![]()
yeah i love working in a school!
Snowing here in Evercreech (Somerset) at the moment. Light at the moment, I want full scale blizzards!
Been snowing here since before dawn - school is open. However, just got a text to say although the school is staying open, if parents wish to collect their children then they can do. Which means that pupils will be leaving in dribs and drabs and the staff will have to wait until all of them have gone.

Tskkkk! When I were a lass... Harrogate Grammar never closed for snow... never! The kids who lived up nidderdale got to go home a bit early if their buses came. The rest of us were there until 3.55pm regardless!
Similar thing for me when at school. I lived on the top of a hill and had to walk many a time - those that lived at the top of the oposite hill got special buses that always came early for them.
So here I am in an empty suite - the few pupils that remain are in the hall watching a DVD. The few remaining teachers are attempting to get their cars out of the car park.
And still it snows.
