I'm pretty sure you can delete it now.

I ended up with loads of people that I 'used' to know but am not in touch with, I relised pretty quickly why we're not in touch, I just removed them in the end and now only have friends on there it's fine now. Just remember the general rules of the internet, don't put anything on there that you don't want peope to see.

I may delete my account sometime soon. I don't actually use it anyway. I only logged in on the weekend because the girlfriend wanted me to be her neighbour in that cooking game.

I think it's great as long as you have interesting content. I use mine to see where people that I met travelling are, reading about their experiences gives me ideas about where I might want to go next.

I mainly use mine for people from high school or friends don't commonly see and a couple of people I talk to regularly see online and I have all these people listed/grouped appropriately so friends from school can't see certain things and people from online can't see certain things (eg: photos from school).

Also I /may/ have a slight addiction to a certain game.

Yeah, Ive got plenty of interesting people on mine, I like seeing what they're doing and without Facebook we probably wouldnt be in touch.

There are a load of old school friends which I added when I first signed up, who are incredibly annoying and boring, need to delete them but a bit worried some will notice and ask why (even though we never talk)

Oddly enough, although my eldest son won't allow me on his facebook, the 19 year old does - and he has some seriously dodgy stuff on there - some years ago I found pictures of a much younger son and his mates throwing themselves on and off my new sofas!
He got into big trouble for that but he STILL didn't take me off as a friend!!
    I would have done!

    Well done mattx!!!

I dont have a facehugger account, so I cant delete it... but i'll encourage its deletion never the less.

I see Mr F Huggers personal pictures got published under the new 'open' rules, he said he meant to do it, but they were all removed within seconds. Guy can't even lie straight.

Facebook for personal contact and twitter more professionally aimed.

I have locked down my profile to protect the safety of others though ... why should people on my contact list be able to see others I am in contact with ... and their pictures ... and stupid comments.

No-one can stick anything on my wall except me ... and I *will* delete stupid comments / replies.

Make extensive use of groups the same way you would with AD Security groups too.

I too use Facebook for social contact and, like GD, have locked down who can see what I am up to very tightly. the recent security changes, prompted me to review all my settings and make absolutely sure they were bolted down.

I am, at present, friends with my kids, but acknowledge that that might change as they get older.

With school friends now resident in Australia and the USA and my family in far flung parts of the UK and Europe, Facebook has been very good for keeping in touch.

lol I let my mum be my friend, though I have blocked her from seeing friends pictures of me since they tend to be the more dodgy ones Problem is, half my friends have added her now too!

I have my facebook locked down like fort knox!

I find it useful for keeping in contact with friends and family and its quite handy having it all in one place.

Another great thing about it is organising social activities using the events applications.

So much easier than sending out multiple txts to everyone.

I regularly have facebook culls though and i'm not one of those people who claim to have 500 friends.

I hate the applications on there like vampires, throwing sheep; i find it a load of nonsense.

I cant believe how thick some people are though.

People who create groups "i've lost my phone please send me your number" and advertise this on a open group.

    Duh!
