This is quite a serious question, and onme I ask every now and again. When we meet with other companies the first thing they usually ask is 'So what exactly is EduGeek?', and my reply is often 'What, you mean you don't know?!'
Then it becomes a bit hard to explain an online community, what it does (remeber, these are often sales people who honestly still belive that click-throughs are the only way to gauge an effective online ad campagn) and what it is we all do on and through EduGeek. So how would you describe us to a total stranger, keeping it as short and to the point as possible?
We are EduBorg, a collective of geeks and techies linked via a interconnected collective = Edugeek. The answer to all ICT problems, a repository unrivalled in its knowledge and ambition to find the answer to everything.
It's like the local pub, crossed with a library.
A human knowledge library.
I think the edugeek tagline in the heading somes it up perfectly:
"the educational IT professionals' life line"
Mumsnet for techies
SimpleSi (8th December 2009)
mossj (8th December 2009)
those people you dont want to ask 'i wonder how the computer starts when i press the power button...'
We are antagonising to our "Online Community"?
My Work , My Love , My Life lol
