    I have 13 schools that I support.

1 always has the power block unplugged from the Promethean board.

1 at 2 or 3 laptops "cant access the network" "DONT TURN THE WIRELESS OFF THEN!!"

1 has too many pc's and not enough network points, they know this but wont put another network point in or even get a mini switch, and yet they STILL complain that this pc one pc cant access the network.

1 has moaned about laptops not charging in the trolley - "which ones?" I say. "ooh I'm not sure now" they respond. Its always that they've yanked on the cables and dislodged one or more power supplies.

I have another that the teachers in reception are obsessed with moving the equipment about EVERY week and then complain because they haven't connected it all back up correctly or that leads are missing.

The fn+f8/f5 I would say is the most common overall.

Well. . . It's not a reported problem because it's not really possible to report, but the biggest problem i've ever had in all my time in education is

    TEACHERS!

followed closely by Management, Students, Suppliers, and Parents.

all guilty of not clearly stating the problem.

    gets $pupilid

    ? "Enter their new password..."
    ?
    gets $pass

    $prefix = substr($pupilid, 1, 1)
    $suffix = val(substr($pupilid, 2, 4))

    if ($prefix <> 's') or ($suffix < 2000)

    Same as O.P,

Teacher ''Can't get my laptop to work with the projector''

Me ''It'll probably just be the FN+F8 needs pressing''

    Teacher ''I've tried that''

    *presses FN+F8, display appears*

Teacher ''I tried that 100's of times!?!?''

    Sims not working.... Every day!!

Cause. Staff clicking the desktop sims icon.

Cure. Goto start, all programs find sims, click on it.

For some reason, and I dont know why, they all decide if you can launch it from the desktop then its time to call IT.

We never put it on the desktop!, but its spread like a virus. It might be when it does an upgrade but its so anoying.

We occasionally have an issue with sims not loading from icons either, brings up some error but can't remember what. Always works from start menu though. (We redirect the desktops.)
