Hardly a sports car, more a glorified go-kart. Alas a very funny article.

Not able to read this as it blocked. But is it really poor investigation work? Isn’t this the article where he parked in a very sensitive area that was no parking before a parade was due past and he was seen running from the car.

Well if you park or try to park in London you are stupid. You do not need to drive into the center of London. Some places your not even allowed to park bikes!!

A sensitive area, yes. Parade was due the next day, and he ran from his car.

Still, it doesn't leap out in normal people's minds 'BOMB'. It leaps out 'needed the loo!' or 'late to party!'...

    Investigation involves, you know, investigating...

Parked on a double yellow, where he parked less than 24 hours before a big parade. If the car had been left there while the police where running around investigating and the car blew up killing people. Then the question why wasn't it dealt with there and then. It takes weeks of organising for these events and in this day and age. He got what he deserved in my opinion.

Oh come on! Why are you buying in to this 'terrorism threat' nonsense. Yes, we've had some threats. But to come to the attitude that parking badly etc... is deserved of his car being blown up is a little OTT don't you think?

Can you never think of a situation where you've done something which might make people think 'suspicious person'? That's why the police are supposed to investigate! The same 'shoot first' behaviour is what got an innocent man shot not so long ago.

Oh, I do love it. Someone has given me neg rep for this... "Yet another example of you whinging about everything the police do!"

So questioning the behaviour of a tax payer funded force is wrong is it? Riight. Well done whoever you are. My complaint is not the police in general. It is the use of 'terrorism' as a catch-all 'free pass' letting them do whatever they want.

I don't think it should have been blown up as a "terrorist threat" (I think you're right that this is regularly overstated) but I reckon anyone who parks on double yellow lines in a city centre ought to (at minimum) have their car crushed on the spot :-) (similar to "operation cubit" for untaxed cars)

Better that the car got blown up and it wasn't a bomb than time being wasted if it was one.
