OK all you TV aficionados out there I’m after some advice. I’ve been fortunate enough to win a new LCD TV in a raffle but have got a choice of 2 so I would like some opinions as to which to choose.
The options are:
Toshiba: 40'' to 49'' Screen Size
or
LG 42LH3000 Televisions TV/Audio/Video
Any advice will be gratefully appreciated as I know jack about this type of thing and usually just look at how easy it is to clean the screen after my kids have smeared their sticky fingers across it!!!!! Think I’ll be wall mounting whichever I choose this time.
Thanks,
well i personally have both a toshiba lcd and a LG lcd and the LG wins hands down in every department!

Personally as they're remarkably similar (though the LG has an extra HDMI port over the Toshiba) I'd have a gander down to your local white goods store and look at the picture quality on both, plus any personal preference on styling and how it fits into your home.
congrads on the win!
Personal preference I'd go for the LG

Check out avforums.com
They should have full reviews of both. I imagine they will recommend the Tosh over the LG.

I have a Tosh 42" and it is superb, in fact, it is remarkably similar to the one shown.
The picture quality is superb, and havent experienced any problems in a year of ownership. I run my Xbox through the HDMI connection, and it really is superb. Can fully recommend it.

I have the 47 inch version of the LG and it is very very good
only issue with it is i can only get 1080i rather than 1080p out of the PS3, all other HD sources run fine, PS3 runs fine on other tv's so its just some kind of incompatibility i'm sure they'll be a firmware update at some point.
However otherthan that i can't fault it, the picture's beautiful
