PS. I can only imagine how bad a 1mbit internet stream will look on a 40ft cinema screen, youtoube looks crap when I play it on my 46" TV. imagine it stretched another 10 times?

I think you need your head looking at paying yet again to watch something. How many times do the UK customers have to pay to watch something? We pay TV license, then we pay to subscribe to the likes of Virgin/Sky, then we have to pay for pay to view TV on the subscribed TV, then we subscribe to our internet connection, only to pay for stuff that's being streamed across it???. Why?
I wouldn't mind (wait, that's a lie) so much if i could even watch something on BBC iPlayer the following day after its been aired on a 10Mb connection without it constantly stopping.

i wouldn't watch this match even if it were on free tv. Because it's totally meaningless.
anyone who pays £4.99 to watch this on t'internet shouldn't be allowed to open a bank account. Or be given money.

I wouldn't pay to watch any match on any medium; because, as bossman so eloquently put, it's just "over paid bunch of inarticulate Neanderthals kicking a bag of wind around".

Just remembered about the joys of traffic shaping as well, if this ever goes mainstream the ISPs will have a field day when everyone tries to watch at once![]()

Ok, firstly why all the negative rubbish about our national team and how bad they are? We are playing some of our best football in ages!
Secondly, you go and watch overpaid film stars dont you?
Finally, as a football fan I am very annoyed at the approach taken for such a "meaningless" match. I expect (yes expect) all England matches (and Scottish/Welsh/Irish) to be free.
Anyhow... Ill be watching some dodgy stream from another country![]()
I don't think they are overpaid.
A lot of people who complain they are overpaid still pay £40 for a replica shirt and pay sky a ridiculous amount a month for watching the games.
"over paid bunch of inarticulate Neanderthals kicking a bag of wind around"
i take it you don't like football then?

Of course not if you compare it to careers such as nurses, firefighters etc.
I hate to use a often used quote but thats the way the world is.
If you compare it to the money clubs make through television deals, sponsorships, revenues players bring to clubs through shirt sales etc then yes they are not overpaid.
They pay tax and NI (although no doubt some of them employ favourable accounting measures!)
They are paid according the "market" and as long as supporters pay ridiculous ticket prices and overpriced subscription costs it will continue.

Just another nail in the coffin for me...
Obviusly its been going commercialised for a long time now but our national team on pay per view for a meaningless match, that truely is disgusting!
You cant drink, you cant smoke, you cant shout nasty things at the players incase it upsets them, hell they wont even let you have a good ol' scrap after the game anymore
Players who dont even want to play for their country, getting taught to be professional divers and cheats throughout their carreer, clubs doing dodgy backhander deals and using underhand tactics...
Is it just me who thinks football has lost its magic?

Minus the infrastructure required, servers, staff and obtaining the live feed. This would easily go into the millions. I don't think it's that profitable which is probably why they're attempting to charge £11.99 on match day. They have put a limit of 1 million connections, which would be £5 million approx in revenue.
Not bad for a poxy england match
England matches should be free for all.
The FA are hardly in the clear with this.
They need to pay for the ridiculous price of Wembley Stadium hench selling England games to the highest bidder.
There are a list of sporting events that have to be made to free to view on tv.

No doubt we will eventually see World Cups on pay tv.
Also shouldn't fans be able to take celebrations from players if they are going to abuse them?
Paul Whitehouse wouldn't stand for this.
All together now, GREEN ARMY!
