    I lived on second floor and had a really heavy bike, I don't see what problem you have! At least you know its there!

    I'd admit though, a wet bike is not fun to have dripping on your wooden floor.

    I'd carry it up to your place, speaking from my experiance of theft once somethings stolen it can really put a dampner on that item/hobbie... even if somehow you get it back it just won't feel like your bike anymore.

    If you do end up storing it anywhere (for any amount of time) but your flat, make sure to buy a D-Shape lock, they are much more effective than the traditional chain type (I once saw someone grab some bolt cutters from a car and do away with a chain in seconds)
