    Acronyms

You can also search for any acronym of phrase on TeacherNet: the education site for teachers and school managers for more information.

If you do get an interview, remember they are a two way thing. It's also the time you can find out a bit more about the school and their practices.

One thing to remember that although the priority list GrumbleDook listed is pretty much standard, each school may deviate from this. Some schools dont even have a priority list. If you are stating how & why you are prioritising, it might also be a good time to ask how they currently do it. It could give you and understanding of the standards they are currently working to.

    Good luck

I got my first job in ICT by pure luck - I was at college at the time, no previous qualifications, just had an ITE1 CISCO and they offered me a job. I'm now an Assistant Network Manager!

Since you have the A+ and some experience it may be worth you considering taking the "MCDST" exams - they are a great entry level support role qualification and if you don't get this job then it will stand you in good stead for the next one.

Exams take about 3hours each and there are 2 of them. So in theory you could be qualified in a day and stand a much better chance of getting the job and impressing them

I run an IT Academy at the University of York so give me a call and I can let you sit the exams at our Prometric test centre if you want.

I Would like to offer my sincere thanks to Witch who provided me with a great service. She looked over my Application supporting statement and made necessary additions and subtractions. This tightened up the statement and I now have an interview next Wednesday as a result. I would highly recommend her critique.
    Thank you

How long the interview last for generally, also I have noticed on this forum that people know if they are successful at the end of day so how long on average people get to know if they are successful or not.

I am also surprised that you get feedbacks ..don't know any other sector do this.

    Praying I get the job...

I was told about 5mins after my interview finished, there was one other applicant and he had been interviewed before me.

    Good luck for tomorrow!

I had the interview this morning, they will let me know tomorrow if I got the job or not.

To be honest I don't think it went well so I would be surprised if I got the job.
Just out of interest if you were interviewing someone which room would you have it taken place?

Mine was in Art class and I thought id be interviewed in one of their offices or in a IT room.

In some schools it will be whichever room is free... finding a free one for interviews or meetings can be a nightmare.

The last interview panel I was in, we had to interview in a classroom that was being renovated... we had a table and chairs, but there was a pile of builders equipment, power tools and plasterboard to keep us company!

Fingers crossed for the outcome of your interview
