    Photo Restoration - HELP!

    Hi folks,

I know some of you are awesome with Photoshop, and I am therefore asking this huge favour. I attach a photo from a 1968 paper that our teacher wants to keep.

The scan of this image is the best possible using the scanner we have, but can anybody here work their magic on it and make it look good as new again?

    Many thanks,

How did you manage to get the "folds" out of the picture? I only know the very basics, but would love to know more about photo manipulation, but it just seems like such a steep learning curve

First croped the image. Then used filters in Photoshop. Noise reduction first to combine the dots and then blur to tweak even more.

Then used the healing brush tool and clone tool to remove the folds in the paper as best I could.

Then tweaked the contrast etc to boost the image.

1968? that film had been out for a while!
    The Rains of Ranchipur (1955)

Nice work sysman, I had a quick play and couldn't better that.
