    It is a XT (8086).

    It has tape-port on the backside and if I disable the harddrive it boots into ROM-basic

    Not quite. XT was very early but it wasn't the first model - check IBM's own web site for some more history IBM Archives: The first 10 years

    I love the "Portable Personal Computer that can travel where the work is" but at 30lb weight I'd guess it helps to have a trolley to shift it! Could you imagine offering a 30lb computer to someone today and telling them that it's portable :-)
