Still havent ruled out quitting IT, it's not as exciting or interesting to me as it used to be
Dream job would be cooking (and hopefully owning) in a small restaurant somewhere warm, but not many have that luxury

15th September 2009, 10:56 AM #78 Well, considering I have every driving licence you can get (bar coach and road roller, and I'm a qualified skid instaructor, cross country driving instructor and have a whole rafy of other related quals I think I'd definatelt steer clear of driving trucks for a living (it is actually more stressful than it looks and you spend a lot of time away from home). Great if you are single, but hell for married folk. I'm not to sure what I would do, but soemthing out doorsy would be nice. I miss working out doors (in all weather and times) since I left the army.

Or inventor-for-hire.

15th September 2009, 11:43 AM #82 I want to be an Old-Age Traveller, touring Europe & North America in my motorhome, taking photos for travel magazines to pay my way
Failing that, I might join Bossman stacking shelves in B&Q

This is my dream too....always always wanted to travel.
Other than that..dream job would be acting (have done amdram for many years),or playing in a professional orchestra (if I was good enough).
In reality?
I would like to make a go of my small business in decluttering. I love to help people sort things out.
Or go back to doing electronics/computer recruitment - I loved helping people get the right job. Mind you, it is all searching databases of CVs and sending out 'we have a job for you' emails these days.

15th September 2009, 07:17 PM #87 I'd go to University, and follow my original career path before IT - Computer Games Design.
Or, my other original career path - the police.

15th September 2009, 09:04 PM #89 It gets to a point where the more you learn results in the more that breaks and you end up fixing because of your new-found knowledge.
It's quite amazing though just how many of us wanted to do something else before IT. It might be interesting to have a poll about how many of us went into ICT as a last resort.
