You misunderstand me - you're not allowed to put Mac-OS-BSD-Whatever-It's-Called-Thing on anything other than a Mac!
Wasn't Vista cracked before it launched as well?
They should take a lesson from Apple. I have no problem purchasing new OS's for my Mac's whenever they are out (I even BUY a copy for each one of them). I somehow always manage to acquire my copy of Windows.
If Microsoft would be more reasonable, I'm sure it would stop much of the cracking and piracy that occurs.

same here - although for the time being only have one but hopefully at some point soon will be getting another one
It must just be the Apple way of thinking. I bought a MBP and an iMac just before Leopard was released and both machines qualified for the free upgrade, although I had to pay £6.50 postage. I could have got a way with applying for just one upgrade as there is no serial number or anything but I still got both sets of Leopard disks, paying two lots of postage effectively.
Would never dream of doing this with anything from Microsoft, and I'm supposed to be "selling" Microsoft services etc!
Nothing against windows 7 as heard a lot of good things about it and because I am in the windows 7 section so don't want to get flamed but personally I prefer apples OS for quality and the amount of features you get.
I do like Windows 7 but have to agree with you. Apple OS releases always feel so much more complete and thought about.
Its not really a crack, its a oem offline activation image.
Its not even a big deal because all MS do is revoke the key since lenevo breached contract they have to reset their images for Oct 22 launch (which is when you can actually get it on a lenevo)
WGA will pick it up and boom done, vistas cracks were after vista came out (the oem key sort) so since the keys were in the wild as such it was going to be much harder to pick up.
As for apple, 7 rules!
more bang for the buck as well as feature rich - like they added features on leopard and then just built on that and added support for multi core support and more support for video file types etc supposdly and using the graphics cards power on grand central dispatch ( or however they do it and yes I do know nvidia did an open computing language to do the same thing quite some time ago )
Where as MS keep changing things from OS to OS so not sure if windows 7 has the same things in the same places as XP as not played with it that much and it just confuses the issue instead of just building on something good - so if they make another OS after windows 7 will it be windows 7 with better additions or will it just be a whole new OS ?
