I knew you didn't have to wait, verbal communications count, they fact they've said you have to wait for a text because they are changing the TC's is confirmation over the phone.

And the staggering is damage limitation as Localz said :P

Makes you wonder when companies do these things, do they tell the user base they can get out, or just notify them of contract changes and only the informed user base get out?

They don't tell the users they can get out - that is for the informed minority to point out, by arguing about their terms and conditions.

Just rang up about cancelling my contract and they informed me they dont have to give a pac code to transfer the number due to me cancelling the contract during the term.... Is this true?

Also as i am wanting an iphone (i know i have been seduced by the shiny shiny)they say they are getting it added to there network in october, but as i8 believe its only the old iphone... is this true and if so how long have o2 got the iphone 3Gs exclusivity?

No! They are legally obliged to give out a PAC code!

Certainly not! They can require you to pay for the remaining months in the contract though (except in this case, where you don't agree with a change to the terms and want to rescind it).

Thats very true, if you request PAC code and don't use it they continue your contract, as I found out the hard way, but although I requested my PAC code it never arrived in the post.

Three months later, 90 charge, and 20 for failing to pay three months of my contract.

    Utter idiots in that regard.
