    Actually, that's a point - what WOULD happen if the toast was buttered on both sides? (apart from getting stuck to the cat). Would it change the workings of the buttered-cat turbine?
    What would happen if you cut out the middle man and just buttered the cat?

    it would go faster as the cat would get more slick
