    Retirement Gift

Our Network Manager is retiring at the end of this school year and we're stumped for as to what to buy him...

Assuming I've got about £60 - £80, and he likes: France, Travelling, anything techky, France.

Any ideas ? I've gotta go shopping tonight

    Help !

    Case of good French wine?

Or a selection of fine cheeses, with some good port?

Our tech retired last year, he also liked travelling so we bought him a TomTom with European maps.

I thought about this, but he's already got a really good Garmin GPS.

a load of wine with a stopper that tells you the temperature of the wine?

(I've seen them - a friend had one - but I've no idea where to buy them.)

Victorinox Cybertool? Best little pocket tech gadget I've ever had, assuming he will keep his hand in with IT at home they're priceless. Also has the usual assortment of bottle openers, corkscrews and the like.

Lakeland Segway - for Segway sales and tours in the Lake District.

Got this (the tour) for my parent's birthdays this year they're impossible to buy for as they've got everything they need and this was just a bit different...

a one-way ferry ticket to france?

I'd stay away from the wine it's quickly forgotten, go for something personilised it will last alot longer.

Engraved Multi tool, maybe? Everyone i've seen with the real thing, seem to sware by them and there useful about the home, as well as in IT.

Personilised Keyboard maybe?, could be interesting if you know anyone good at airbrushing/have enough to pay someone. Find a temp-tattoo artist in the street there fairly good at it, and i expect if you pay them enough they'll airbrush a keyboard with the design you want for you.
