A doctor friend of mine actually told me that Master Bates (we know his real name) was to be initiated at least once a day every day and twice on a Sunday as part of good practice and for keeping the prostate gland clear and functioning properly.

Hahaha, brought a smile to my face, just had visions of that being added to the PSE lessons and seeming the teachers face as they deliver that saying.
I should have one of the fittest prostates around, then.

I've not read all the comments to the article, but how depressing those that I did were.
We need to accept that kids ARE sexual beings at puberty (whenever it happens); they need to be taught that it is normal and fun and that they need to be safe and sensible, and what is, and isn't legal when. And WHY!
Burying heads in the sand and not talking about it, or being reactionary and proscriptive will only drive the kids to doing things without understanding the risks, and ultimately not enjoying their sex-lives.
Those of use who have kids of this sort of age need to be open with them; hugely embarrassing (for kids and parents alike) to start with, but once the subject is open, it does get easier! Schools do have a part to play, as many parents don't understand their kids needs, or have the b@lls to do the "Talk".
