I'm not really into bikes (mainly for the stress it would cause my dad) but I'd love one of these...
Brammo Enertia electric motorcycle now available
top speed = 50 mphThe Brammo Enertia electric motorcycle -- which we took for a joyride around the streets of New York City last month -- can now be yours, as it's officially on sale. The eco-friendly bike has a horsepower rating of 13.7, with torque at 31 ft/lbs, and weighs about 280 pounds. With a top speed of about 50 miles an hour, the bike's got a 45 mile range before needing a 3 hour recharge. It's not the most powerful of motorcycles to be sure, but it's got plenty of style, and it can be yours for about $12,000.
total range before charging = 45 miles
charge time = 3 hours
so after riding for an hour on a long journey you would need to stop charge for 3 hours then continue. i guess for in a town it would be cool but its not very practical travailing much further
On the Isle of Man, they ran an electric TT about a month back. Average speed was the same as a 50cc bike in the 60s, but not slow at 68mph!

ah well anything under 20 miles i would just stick to peddle power
(and spend the $12k on deodorant and drinks)
I've started using my bike again, had to drive my wife to work every day for a while but she's on maternity now so it's ok. Did a 20 mile ride at the weekend and it really took it out of me, took me all morning... which is upsetting because 6 months ago I could have done it in an hour and a half and got on with my day.
So I need some more time to get my fitness back I think!
wont take long to get it back on form especially now the weather getting better
