Well good start to sky we have had sent us two cards for the two boxes great no problem.....
until sky install bloke tried to install second box and low and behold the second card was not added to our account and was cancelled so when sky bloke left we had one working box and one not working box...
Then we phoned up to have moan (see if they could just activate the not working card) no go and he said would send new card by special delivery....
ok then turn on second box that worked few hours later couldn’t access any of channels phoned "oh we deactivated second card by mistake"... at this point if he had said will send you a new card swear i would by writing this from jail...
luckily for his family he said we reactivate card it will take between 4 minutes and 4 hours... heck not much difference...
anyway we sit and wait for it to be reactivated oh joy.....

Epsiode Two: Revenge Of Incompetence...
Well fours hours passed and no viewing so phone call to sky spoke to manager "ermm please hold"...
few mins later "we cant do that we will have to send new card out" luckly for his family he is India and so i couldn’t go and track him down...
After major rant i mean major rant he says right will send new card and also not charge you until both boxes are activated and then will give you one free month...
ok fine by 10oclock that night had enough...
Chapter Three: oh dear but there is hope...
Ok phoned up decided to check if cards are being sent to me...
errm we have one card active and one card being sent...
non of there card numbers are same as my card numbers..
went through whole sarga she says right i am looking at call notes and non of them make sense can you hold...
she comes back on right ok lets do this give me two cards numbers you got this has gone to my team leader and we are going to try and reactivate these cards (that is what we wanted in first place) as we could be sending you cards until next year and you still have no viewing...
so i await the next chapter...
i just want to watch a program...

Ever thought about Cable ... or even freeview? The only people that want Sky are saddos that are hooked on American rubbish like 'football' where you need more padding than the average infantryman gets issued for Iraq, or their version of rounders (which is just an excuse for them to slid in the dirt).
I'll get my coat.

I can't get a good terrestrial signal so have to use my sky box for the normal channels anyway.
Just started to get into NCIS as well.

The story continues after another call i was told as again we can activate that card...
This manager put my account to be looked at by it department as it was so messed up..
so ok puts phone down and rings head office number ask fro complaints happen to get through to complaints team leader who reports to one of executives at sky uk.
He says well on your account there is one card number (not even got this card) that is active and other two have been cancelled..
He then takes details and says he is going to follow the case through until it is sorted we should have whole thing resolved in 48 hours..
next day the card that was on account turns up phoned our bloke at sky he says leave it to one side as his boss aka senior executive has emailed it department boss to basically say this has to be top priority.
So will call tomorrow to see what latest is..
So stay tuned will sky ever turn up, will the house be over run with sky cards all that dont work...
same sky time, same non working sky channel...

Interesting i've been experiencing regular dips in broadband connectivity, like at exactly midnight every night. Following comments here i've disconnected the sky box from the telephone line [bin a customer for over a year now], and my connection graph has been clear since! Hmmm!
It's early days yet but it's looking suspicious already.

@mark: Maybe it's worth monitoring the serial port on your Sky box and comparing the dialup time to the time your DSL goes down?
