A full UK turn by turn GPS solution! You'll need to upgrade to OS 3.0 to use I think. Bought it last night and used it to travel to work this morning. It did a very good job. Clear instructions in plenty of time. Very good location lock. Clear display. Clear voice instructions. What more can you ask for?
Oh, and it's £38 till the end of today then the price goes up, so if you haven't already you may want to upgrade to OS 3.0 and buy this app.

30th June 2009, 08:28 AM #2 or you could just use a normal satnav, and save yourself the hassel of having to use an iphone

30th June 2009, 08:33 AM #3 Hey, it was no hassle at all. In fact I think it's a neater solution. I have the phone wired into the stereo any way. On device on the windscreen not two. At £38 it about 1/3 of the price of buying a dedicated sat nav and the screen/instructions was as good as any sat nav I've used in the past.
Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and thought other iPhone owners here might be interested as the offer ends today!

30th June 2009, 08:34 AM #4 how much will it be going up by ? 45 or 50 ?

30th June 2009, 08:46 AM #5 I think it will be about £55 - still not bad compared to a new sat nav if you already own the phone!

And the fact, I'm pretty sure we'd be covered for updates and the likes. Nothing like continual development, just plug and play into a PC and update with new features
Very good bit of software by the looks of it, I to this day use my iPhone as Satnav, using google maps, not as accurate as it needs to be, but gives me an overall idea of where to go, what more does one need?

30th June 2009, 09:21 AM #8 You'd really want an iphone charger for your car tho, unless you enjoy running out of battery before you get to work :P

30th June 2009, 09:24 AM #9 I use a Belkin adapter. Plugs into cigarette lighter socket and includes a 3.5mm audio jack for my stereo. Fantastic for my iTunes library on the move. I now also have a sexy voice to keep me company (in stereo) when I get lost

30th June 2009, 09:40 AM #11 I do like the Navigon software, but at the moment I'm waiting on the TomTom software + mount to be released. The tomtom mount looks like one of the best iPhone car mounts around

30th June 2009, 11:23 AM #13 Can you use the iPod function at the same time, so have the sat nav interface running, but play songs in the background?

30th June 2009, 11:36 AM #14 TomTom are bringing their one out soon too, not sure how much but probably not as cheap as this one.

30th June 2009, 11:47 AM #15 I did do a quick app search for TomTom before I purchased this. I do like the TomTom software. But when I saw the price, and the fact it was a limited offer, I just had to buy it.
Certainly not unhappy with my late night purchase. does all I need a sat nav to do.

Not tried, but I doubt it. AFAIK the iPhoneOS doesn't multitask. I don't think its not capable of multitasking, it's OS X after all, I think it's just multitasking disabled.
I think this is one of the interesting selling featues of the new Palm Pre - it does multitask.
The iPhone 3GS might be a different kettle of fish.
