Capita's acquisition of Carillion IT Services Limited - Statement
Capita Children’s Services’ parent company, the Capita Group Plc, announced last week that it was acquiring Carillion IT Services Ltd (CITS), a managed IT service provider.
Since the announcement, we have received some questions from partners and customers relating to the acquisition of CITS and whether it will affect Capita Children’s Services position in relation to Building Schools for the Future (BSF) projects.
CITS will become part of Capita IT Services, which is a separate organisation to Capita Children’s Services. As a result, the acquisition will not affect Capita Children’s Services stance in relation to BSF projects.
Capita Children’s Services position on BSF projects will continue to be as follows:
Capita Children’s Services is not directly involved in any bidding for BSF contracts nor is the company actively part of any bidding consortia.
Capita Children’s Services has and will continue to support and provide expert consultancy on school management information systems to any companies bidding for BSF contracts, or for any local authority or school embarking on any new building projects.
We will remain independent in this process and continue to liaise with all BSF bidders as we have done in the past.
