The other advantage of separate html files is if BBC/Sky/ANOther change their feeds then editing one file fixes any use.

I have to say I'm glad this came up when it did as a member of SMT (that we like so like to keep pleased (not that we don't like the others just she helps us out)) finally mentioned digital signage. So I pulled all my research from various times of looking at it (even a clunky ASP system I bodged together from about 5 years ago!) & started going through it. Then saw this & decided to have a look & I have a system and a test client up and running in about 3 hours! Ok, so I have xamp all ready running on a test server so that wasn't needed to be done from scratch but I even had dodgy templates being created to try out the media types almost instantly.

Top notch! Request for large screen going in & a new summer project to do

Templates site would be great though.

EDIT: & Just noticed the examples are from Longhill. Guessing that makes it a local system so I feel even better about supporting it

I'm in the process of evaluating it at the moment, too.
I would also really appreciate any widescreen templates anyone has to share...

Additional - a shot of our front of school screen setup

Top left - Clock (flash file)
Next to that - Text on a cycle (Welcome to - $School Name$)
Lower left - Powerpoint about the school (static info) dynamic content, and BBC news RSS feed
Top right - Slideshow (blurred in this photo for child anonymity)
Bottom right - AlexB's excellent SkyNews feed with modified background colour to fit in

Haven't fiddled with it in ages, but might add some more images and text content this afternoon.

Just been playing around with this today, as we have 4 screens going in at the moment. We were just going to run Powerpoints on them, but this seems to fit the bill perfectally for controlling them, it even runs on the old tablet PCs we were going to use to control the screens with - perfect!

Only took me an hour to get working, and just playing around with templates and trying out the different bits of it. First impressions are good

I finally got round to getting something simple set up.

Got another layout doing a slideshow of the logos that usually go on letters, running on a projector in reception.
