Excuse me, but wasn't the song banal rubbish?!?!

Excuse me, but wasn't the song banal rubbish?!?!
Yes, but the singer resembled Zac Efron (at least I think so) which would have instantly caused millions of European schoolgirls phone in to vote.

Welcome to Eurovision, where actual talent counts against the entrants.
Actually this year was much better than previous years for political voting I think. They changed the voting so that 50% was decided by phone and 50% by judging panel. Still not perfect, but better.
And what the hell was that Interval Act
Thought Norway was rubbish, ours was a bit too West End Musical - not surprising considering Andre Lloyd Webber wrote it!
Graham Norton sounded no different that Terry Wogan - though at least it wasn't monotone!
bring back Lordi I say!![]()
The fact you lot actually wasted an hour of your time watching that banal rubbish program worries me
Butuz

I watched it and thought some of them were quite good
As for Norway winning, it was innevitable after they fielded such a big artist - he has a following throughout Europe.
I still don't understand why we insist on finding unknown, obscure, acts to field for Eurovision. Why not just send a pop act that are already doing OK in Europe?
Genius idea by Germany to get Dieter Von Teese in on the act - deflected your attention from the rubbish song slightly![]()
You'll never get an established UK act on there as the majority of the UK see it as a bit of a joke - look at some of the carp we've sent them recently (Daz Sampson, Scooch??) and Jordan almost went one year! It's just a bit of a laugh for most.
Given the huge variation in tastes (and lack of) across Europe its hard to appeal to all.
Oh and there still was a fair bit of political voting going on.
At least it cured my insomnia, I had a nice nap for about 20 songs![]()
I think they probably thought they were doing that, by using Andrew Lloyd Webber...
Anyway, judging by the success of "Lordi" I think they should do the Eurovision Rock Song Contest... That might be better...
Well atleast this years song wasn't really like an Easyjet or BA advert song...
Oh please kill meWe’re flying the flag all over the world
Flying the flag for you
We’re flying the flag all over the world - yes we’re flying - take you all around the world
Flying the flag for you
Would you like something to suck on for landing sir?
We’re flying the flag all over the world - yes we’re flying - take you all around the world
Flying the flag for you…
We’d like to thank you for flying with us today
And we did magically jump up to 5/23 opposed to what place 25? last year...
Maybe it had something to do with them changing the voting system this year? 50% televoter and 50% call ins in hope to stop the political motivation votes.
