Windows 7 release name

Windows 7 has to have sooo many more drivers with it though.

Media Center?
Paint?
Some games?

Ok I know these are basic things, but it's not nothing.

I've installed no additional software yet and I've already, from the 64bit RC:

load a video from my MicroDS card (of which it loaded from the front media card reader on the PC) taken on my phone
played it in Media Player (which is nice and minimalist) to find some screen that blipped for a split second (hence this excercise)
zoomed that with the built in Magnifier to read the small text
printed it out to show a colleague.

Now I don't think my Macbook Pro does that out of the box.

Oh, and I think it will be called...Windows 7

ought else as in anything else and yes hard drives in capacity are getting larger but that does not mean to say I want to use that much more space just for an operating system - windows uses enough space without the paging file increasing etc.

OS X includes a lot of the drivers and comes to about 9 gigabytes not between 16 to 20 ? I have not installed windows 7 so not sure about the option to only install the OS without the extra drivers or not but Leopard and Tiger allowed you to install the OS without the additional languages and or drivers.

Bit of a jump !! ( between 9 gigs and between 16 - 20 gigs )

Im using about 9 for OS X and can still install windows xp ( minimal install ) with a game or two and not use between 16 to 20 gigs

I've installed Windows 7 RC this morning and it's using 7.6 Gb disk space. 1Gb is the page file and about the same for the hiberfile, so that's 5.6 used by Windows files.

I'm not saying all that space is just drivers, but they add up. And I'm sorry, but Macs do not need a single percentage of the amount that Windows does, that's the bonus of making your own hardware and not letting others make more for your OS.

7 also has little things like, the Desktop Themes per location, being in England it installed the UK selection of desktop images, though if I'd been in France or Australia I'd have got different pictures.

At the end of the day, I'm really not fussed how much space it takes up, so long as it works better than Vista and I can move on from XP.

Maybe in 8 they will be chosen on actual cities, with photos tagged near automatically loading.

Has to be kept as Windows 7 - the beta has been more popular and mainstream than any previous release and loads are referring to it by that name
Plus its just a number, not the name of a bloody ski resort for once

I much prefer the name Windows 7. No need for all these awful names anymore. It would be easier for n00b users too to have a number instead of any conncoction of meaningless names.
