Well obviously you can't do it yourself and still keep them up and running, however my manager informs me there are companies that will do this for you, for a fee of course.

Perhaps a quote form a 3rd party company will help her realise just how much extra work she's asking you to undertake..

Sounds like one of those reactionary things to make it look like We're Doing Something - however pointless it may be.

Surely there's far greater risk from things like door handles, switches, tables etc than a keyboard? Here we are responsible for cleaning screens and keyboards etc, they're probably some of the cleanest things in the school given the calibre of our cleaning staff!

I would go to town on anyone taking this "outbreak" that seriously, I think the OP was telling porkies to try and get a squeel out of people.

Why not issue every student/staff with their own personal keyboard and mouse... And fill the playgrounds with individual named toilets as well... Anyway isn't cleaning a clearer job ????

Maybe the school should buy 1,000 pairs of disposable gloves to issue to staff and students.

And standard cleansing wipes, and say to them "If you're so bothered, clean your keyboard yourself".

The cleaning concept is pretty outrageous, to be honest.

That is tottaly rediculous, if the outbreak was that bad the school should be closed anyway.

Based on how long it takes to effectivly steralise a keyboard it would be far more efficiebt to simply replace them all at the end of the day. Give her a quote for a weeks worth of new keyboards and she might come to her sences.

The only way to do this properly in bulk at speed would be to collect all keyboards in and run them through a big UV steralizer or a radiation one .

Suggest that instead they replace all bulbs with high-powered UV lamps. That way they'll sterilize a lot more than the keyboards.

Hows about giving her a quote for replacing the keyboards each day, as you can't be too sure you can get in all the nooks and crannies to clean them.
