I have a couple of old computers (and two servers) that are just sitting around my desk. Was wondering what you guys do with any of your half decent left overs? Any uses you found for them?

File servers, word-processing desktop pcs, anything for less critical tasks.
And if you feel like donating them to another school please let me know!

Donate them to charity / freecycle if you can't find anything to do with them?

Just rebuilt an old hp ML110 server as a workstation for a classroom. You could also make an always on fault reporting terminal out of one or something simmilar.
Generally keep any half decent old servers about with a copy of windows server on... Just incase one server happens to randomly clunk out... can easily throw that back in restore from backups while we sort out what happened to the one thats clunked out and then get that sorted and put it back in at a weekend or something.

Barbeque.
Mini-fridge.

I tend to use any old servers as stools to sit on :| only the really old big 5U(i think) servers...
Either that or they get put into storage for a rainy day!
Workstations, we tend to either use them in a less needed enviroment, or donate them to charity/community centers.
James.

give mr hicks a call he will put them to good use!

Network monitoring boxes... have them checking on all the new kit and creating reports...
Game servers...
Office Heaters...
We usualy ask managment nicely for someone to store them. They find us a far flung room, we fill it with kit.
Then someone things of an new task for the room and we get asked to move the kit to a different far flung room.
It was more an idea, but people have gone a part of the way to the same idea.
