This event is also publicised on LinkedIn and you can mark your atendance for it so it shows up on your profile (in case anyone's interested !)

Hmm. Must investiaget LinkedIn at some point. Hey, is anyone else here planning to attend the London StackOverflow Dev Day in October? I liked the idea of the shirts with your site profile printed on the front - maybe we should get some for the next EduGeek meeting?

Save telling people the same thing all over

The programme for the first national Open Source Schools Unconference, at NCSL Nottingham on 20th July (that's next Monday), is now online at:
Unconference Programme | Open Source Schools
There are a few participant places left, which are free for those working in schools or local authorities. Anyone using or interested in open source software would be very welcome.
My main problem is that I won't be able to see everything - you can only be in so many places at one time! I'll be watching the keynotes, of course, and I'll be leading discussions on Installing Software and School MIS Plugins, and I'll probably go and see Garry Saddington's ScholarPack presentation, Tony Whitmore's presentation about open source virtualisation and the discussion on the BECTA Interactive Whiteboard Common File Format.
This being the 21st century and all, we'll probably try and video just about everything and get it up and viewable on the Internet as quick as we can.

You also get to choose to between Me, David and Miles in afternoon. As while Miles is presenting on scratch and David on MIS systems. I am doing a talk/discussion on Groundworks. I am going to try and get access to version 6 of it to show off to you all..
Russ

I think we're aiming to get everything recorded and on to Vimeo, so there's no need to miss out on presentations. Speaking of which, I'd better go and find some video equipment and actually get some stuff written so I have an idea of what I'm going to talk about...

Wish I could get the school to pay for my travel expenses to go to this![]()

@David
I agree I need to get started being the fact I had forgotten I had put my name forward until schedule came out
Russ
can we have no noisey laptop fans on the video feeds this time please![]()

moan moan moan that is all we get...
Also change in topic for me have decided and Miles has agreed the change to do a session on Green Computing. As it is going to get important over next 12 months and come on peoples agendas. Also suits the wide range of audience.
I am still going to try and get a demo of version 6 of groundwork if anyone wants to see it..
