Register story
The administrators had not, however, reckoned on the sheer determination and machiavellian cunning of the students. They quickly found the admin password allowing unrestricted internet access - not by a keystoke logging black op or extracting it from the IT manager at the point of a gun - but rather because it was taped to the back of every machine.
They probably did that because they couldn't remember the admin password off the top of their head. Besides, the whole school probably knew it anyway.

Clever people have no common sense.

I'm sure that I've heard of this happening elsewhere - maybe it is commonplace and we're all just doing it wrong.

Re: It must have been a teacher!
Just like every member of staff having access to the MIS system in their classrooms to take registers... then forgetting to log out and pupils seeing each others details etc etc etc .... stopped that one by ensuring staff personal details were all on show! somehow they remember to log out then...

Nice one Andy!
I want a program to log staff off automatically, which prompts you to stay logged on - sure I saw one somewhere....

Thatr would be fairly easy to wite:
Wait x Amount of time
if msgbox <> yes to stay logged on after 1 min then
log off.
Probably stick something in there to check if any user events happened at all as well so it knows to start timing out.

I once asked a teacher to lock the door to the room where the computers that accessed the sims db was, after she'd finished. She told me, as a teacher, she was far to busy (read that as IMPORTANT) to lock doors after herself!! Teachers might like to think that the're "interlectual" (sic), but in my opinion, it's only the odd one or two (usually science teachers) who really are that gifted, and hence lacking in common sense. The rest are just arrogant!!
Oops, did I say that!!!!
