we use Bond villains, and are moving to Comic Book baddies, as we've run out of Bond villains![]()
Not that it helps in naming these blade servers.
I once worked in an FE college, whilst installing an additional Netware 4 server I asked the MIS Manager what I should name it, his reply "oh call it anything". I'm not sure he meant me to take him literally, but I did, so they ended up with a server called "Anything".
Whilst working in a university we were setting up a linux server with an Alpha processor we managed to get the Computing Services department to allow us to name it "Moonbase" as in Moon Base Alpha, for those too young, Google "Space 1999". I'm amazed we were allowed it the Computing Services department there were usually very strict about naming, a colleague and I once tried to get a room of seven SGI O2's named after the seven dwarves and the SGI Octane that served them to be called "Snow White" but they came back with some lame argument about copyright and Disney, so we named them all after cheeses instead, which turned out better as later that year we increased the O2 provision so needed more names.
