Just had this today so I thought I'd just pass it on as a tip.

I got a notification for a retracted bid on a store item that didn't involve bids at all so, suitably confused (and smelling a rat) I phoned powerseller support (nice perk that ).

Turns out, one of the buyers on a listing has been removed or set as "no longer registered" and it generated this "bid removed/cancelled" email (but not a message on the ebay site itself). The support bod at eBay was banging on about spoof emails but quickly realised this was actually something in the eBay coding going awry.

Anyway, just a small nugget of intel I thought I'd share as it could be useful if you get a buyer who opts to run with the goods.
