I tried twitter after reading a pdf by Scott mckayabout using it as a dating site, but frankly microblogging and random commenting doesnt suit. I got bored of the whole experience after 2 weeks or so.

Interesting idea, fair play to whoever gets any results with that. But realistically, the amount of normal women using the thing is going to be far outweighed by the amount of guys wanting to chat them up on it

iirc its got a lot to do with using social proof (lots of friends (1000+) who comment) to illustrate oneself as being respected/interesting Even in a short amount of time I'd managed to get a few local watchers.
